It's LAW to have safety chains on ALL trailers, pulled on roads by ANY power unit. 5th wheel and full mounted 3pth is the only way you don't need a safety chain. I was pulled over for no chain on a 2pth hay rake.....I did argue with the officer about it....and still got a ticket.
I'm pretty sure you only need chains if it's towed with a truck here in Indiana. |
