Can't say it can't be done, but you about have to try to plug a flail these days. Cut a field beside a highway today, right of way has a nice wide strip of grass, so I cut it too. In the pretty 3 foot Brome was a discarded full size pickup tire. It didn't go through, but didn't plug either. A regular car tire would have gone on through
