Subject: Need help with a holstein ration.

northern IL
I have a pen of 800lb holsteins that are currently on a ration of
46 % rolled shell corn
46% wet distillers grain
7% straw
1% balancer

We're running out of straw and I'm looking at adding dry earcorn to the ration because that's what I have more of than shelled corn.
If I replace the rolled corn with rolled earcorn and took out the straw do I replace the 7% straw with wet distillers or rolled shelled corn to keep the energy level up to finish them. Shelling the corn would make one more step to add to the cost of feed ,but would give me some good corn cob bedding. Cost Numbers tell me that wet distillers and rolled earcorn are my cheapest ingredients. But is 53% wet distillers too much in a ration? The numbers are all as fed not by dry matter basis.

Is
46% rolled earcorn
53% wet distillers
1% balancer
Enough energy to keep them finishing and make them grade ?

My calculations tell me that earcorn is 20% cob and 80% corn
70 lb earcorn is
56 lbs corn and
14 lbs of cobs

Is that correct?

Years ago my brother finished 800 lb green holsteins with an earcorn, protein pellet ration in a steer stuffer that worked well for him.
