I just skimmed the article but thought about similarities to dairy. Genomic test a heifer for $46, plug her numbers in mating software and get a couple suggestions, breed her to one of the top choices; most AI companies will run the matings if you buy from them.
And in 10 years your genetic variation is what?
(I think we do need at least some genetic variation.)
