My experience is with my 3 point flail mowers and also forestry equipment such as winches, chippers and stump grinders - none of mine accept a quick hitch. Hooking them up is a pain esp working alone. Seems to me a good cat 2 or 3 quick hitch should be able to take the vertical load on the off side of a 3 point mower. Doesn't much of the vertical load in operation sit on a shoe at the outer end which determines cutting height? I have been curious about the simple belt driven Reese 3 point disc or drum mowers from New Zealand. They did well at a demo I saw at the Pittsburgh KS farm show years ago. The drum mower with their spreader attachment left the crop as evenly distributed across the field as if you'd run a tedder.
