Dumb like a Fox aren't they? China's biggest producer buys America's biggest pork producer/ processor. We in USA sell to them in minimal margins, they make a nice profit off our product, but better yet they can feed their people via exports if they so choose to. Now with advent of ASF in China, they've lost over ~50% of their sows which is more than we have in US to begin with. US Pork producers were hoping a small windfall would occur due to their misfortune in disease outbreak. One problem China owns the biggest over here too and has full control from sow to plate wherever they deem fit to sell too. Why we allowed that to happen in first place is great question, but lets tariff the heck out of them.....I mean lets tax the American consumer more because we can't compete with their cost structure? Now lets do it to Mexico too I guess? I'm lost how that equates to the saying America Needs Farmers?
