Do hedge posts have to dry before you can use them? Thought I heard stories if you planted too wet, they would grow.


I have no experience with hedge, but I do know that a living fence post is the longest lasting kind you'll find!

We have a few osage orange trees around here, which I understand is what you call "hedge." There's only just enough that I know what they are. They're not plentiful.

If someone is building a fence around here with something other than treated lumber, they're using eastern red cedar. It grows wild on any abandoned fields or field edges.
