NW KS/ SC ID | I operate combine for a guy who has had anything from a 1460 to a 2188, and has now moved on to greener pastures.
Maybe when they were new and the airboxes sealed 100 percent the HVAC was OK on a 2100+ machine, but at 5000 hours the ones I ran sucked. Whoever got to run it usually was begging for a second water jug by 5 PM.
The 1600 series cabs look crude as heck, and the controls are definitely that, but they seal out dust and blow ice so I actually preferred them over the 2100.
The guy that had to work on them would just blow out the external filter on the 1600s, and they were usually good to go. 2100 he was wrestling the seat out and blowing everything out in hopes of cold air.
So IMO all you gain is handier controls and a better ladder and that is about all.
