Well just to be clear, I wouldn’t trade my 2 MF 9870s for the 2 8312 mocos and 3 8400s they replaced. We cover 2000 acres, 3-4x per year. Under 300hrs per machine. Paid less than 200k for the pair. Wouldn’t go back if you paid me, have missed a couple storms that paid for them due to better drying and getting 250 acres/day cut and conditioned well. We’ve cut our hours in half, can get around everything without hired help if we have to.

Our hay has to be perfect in order to market it around the world. There is a huge risk premium in our market. If I was doing cow hay, we would have half as much haying equipment and no hired help. Probably would still opt for self propelled, it’s like having a day off to sit in one compared to a moco
