I wonder about guys without markers and use only auto steer to plant. I have had a few times where the guidance is 2-3 ft off after I make my opening pass around the field. I’m using an Incommand 1200 with the 6500 receiver.

These type of extreme drift events are short lived. Take a leak, get off the seat and walk around the machine, eat a sandwich, and go back to work, the drift is gone.

The key is to have a sharp enough operator to realize when drift has occurred. I see it about once a month. It's not that common. I still have markers on my planter, but only because Dad likes them. Nothing I have seen in 7 years of autosteering on WAAS gives me any hesitation to remove markers.
