I've got it's connected directly to the battery. And the three amp power supply. And I don't turn it on until after I crank the tractor because I know how electronics like clean power. It is mechanical drive so I'm pretty sure they populations are closed which I guess I will just use it to know that it's planting or not. I just bought it for plots and planting the neighbors sweet corn patches
