My father in law solders mine. Haven’t done one this year yet but have done probably half a dozen. We just split the casing, solder the wire and put it back together. The ones we’ve done have been trouble free ever since. Works great. If they would’ve given the wires just an 1/8” of slack from the factory I don’t think they would ever break.
