WC IL | They are dialing multiple numbers at the same time, probably using a cloned number to make it look like a local call. First one to answer gets the recording, or in rare instances anymore, a live person to try and scam you out of your financial information.
Couple of weeks ago I got 7 calls in one day from 7 different area codes from California to New Jersey. All left the same recorded message that my SS number had been suspended.
My wife's sister got a scam call that showed up as her mother's phone.
I don't answer any calls that are not in my contacts list, unless I am expecting a call from a number that isn't in the list. And I never return a call to an unknown number unless they leave a message and I choose to call them back. | |
