SE Nebraska | Just had a young one with an abscess on its jaw line. Poke it with a needle and see what you are dealing with. If puss comes out then lance it with a blade and let it drain. Also gave it LA200. Did that with the calf and a few weeks later it was fully healed up. Never seen one in the rear like that before though. Because of the dirtier area infection might be an issue? I suppose if you left it, it will just pop open on its own eventually anyway. Best to deal with it now and give it some antibiotics. I'd give the vet a call to be sure though. | |
