Better ways to save weight. Small engine, one small fuel tank, two batteries, short WB. Aluminum subframe and kingpin on trailer, etc.

Heavier tires do take more HP to get rolling, but they have more inertia as well.

The only time it’s worth it to save weight is if it’s 980bu vs 1k legal, or 1200 vs 1250 and the elevators are sticklers. In the winter months we can haul ~1300 legal. 5k bushels in 4 loads is sure nice when you go 90 miles one way.
