Subject: RE: Plastic or Sisal twine?

East of Broken Bow
Neighbor used plastic, we use sisal. Neither of us remove the twine when feeding. After neighbor lost his second cow due to eating plastic twine, he switched back to sisal.
If you don't grind the hay, I'd be scared of cows eating and choking on it, or having it plug them up if you don't remove the twine.
for those reasons, and the way plastic seems to wind around any rotating part of the planter it comes in contact with, has turned me off from plastic.
