S Illinois | Cheapest planting cost means nothing. All this did was add revenue to a planted acre. So if PP was barely the economic winner previously vs planting beans, the beans are now heads and shoulders above PP corn. The vast majority of IL will not plant a forage or milo because it was never close to an economic option, it was going to be either corn or beans and with the weather, taking PP was beginning to be an economic winner. No more especially if on a per planted acre basis this adds $50+/acre. Definitely not friendly bean or corn based on less PP acres going forward. | |
