A neighbor and friend of mine died of cancer last evening. He told me a couple weeks ago he hoped to get thru this farming season and then retire and have enough time left to get some good fishing in. I would imagine that God has directed him to a pretty good fishing pond this morning.
It's a terribly tough year for most of us in this business, but let's keep it all in perspective. Keep your family and friends close, and tell them you love them. God's speed my friend, and for now he's gone fishing!!!!
Yes, You are absolutely right. I was diagnosed with colon cancer last winter and had 1/3 of my colon removed. It definitely makes you look at life from a whole new perspective. From here out I will be putting far more value on spending time with friends and family and worrying less about the farm issues. Fortunately for me, they felt like the surgery got all the cancer and I didn't have to go through the chemo treatments. |
