If you're seeding warm season grasses, then I doubt your drill will work. The warm season grass drills have agitators to help keep the chaff like seed from bridging (and even then a carrier is a good idea - kitty litter) and cups that pull the seed into them. I have seeded cleaned switch grass with my Tye, but I ran it through small seed box. Cool season grass species mixed with a bushel of oats and set to drop a bushel of oats has worked good in my drills large box.
