For cotton i run the regular cotton drum with every 3 rd hole plugged with a pop rivet. That's to get the population down to where i want it. The pockets on the cotton drum are a little large for the newer varieties of cotton that we have now, at least what we plant here in Oklahoma. The pockets being a little large, tends to get doubles, as two small seeds can fit into the pockets. I've used the beet drum/low rate milo drum (i think), and it did work, but had to run really high pressure, i think those would be perfect, if one drilled the holes out bigger. Bigger holes, means you can run less air pressure. The high pressure was ballooning the top of my old fiberglass tank tops out, cracking them up bad. Great planter in my opinion, good luck with it, think you will like it.
