linkage in the first pic looks right. in the second pic is the drill raised or lowered? judging by the seed tubes it looks lowered but your springs aren't compressed at all. when lowered it should pull the 2 arms which rotate the square shaft and compress the springs. mine has enough pressure to lift the entire drill if it's empty.
