Not sure on malibu, but impala is notorious for warping rotors if lug nuts are unevenly over torqued with an impact wrench.

I insisted the tire shop hand torque the lug nuts if they wanted to sell me tires. No torque sticks either.
So a follow up since I had a chance to work on it this morning. I got out my torque wrench after finding out 100ft lbs is what they should be at and they were at 150!!!! I kept "tightening" the torque wrench from 100 to see at what point they'd move. I had gotten new tires in the mean time so the tire shop over tighten them edit to add... I do all my tire business at this place so I gave them the heads up that it happened and got told since there was a truck in next to the car the tech could've never reset the wrench! There is still a slight "shudder" at 40 but goes away fast. I'd say it is 10x's better than what it was.
