North Central Illinois | You are correct that the crop can go in extremely quick under perfect conditions. This ain't perfect. As Clay keeps pointing out the 43% was an anomaly due to really good conditions leading up to that week. When you get a big area that is wet and delayed the progress will be much slower even when things begin to dry out because not everyone will get fit at the same time. The crop will probably still get planted quicker than what some on here think it will but it is going to be more of a progressive thing than a BAM were done type deal. When conditions are perfect we definitely have the capacity to stick the crop in very fast. I would guess there will be a year sometime in the not so distant future when we could plant 50% of the crop in one week. | |
