Getoffmylawn - 5/20/2019 10:41 This shouldn’t be an either or question. Most countries have a mixed economy, using socialism and capitalism to varying degrees, including us. The real trick is putting aside preconceived notions and looking at what works best for the public. The worlds a Petrie dish of experiences, we don’t have a monopoly on good ideas..nor does anyone else.

While true I personally do not want to be part of the socialism experiment to the extent the far left is pushing it.  I've had the Socialism vs. Capitalism debate with a good liberal friend of mine over the last 20 years and we always come to the same conclusion.  Yes if everything was perfect socialism is the best way to keep everything fair, but that takes some very big leaps of faith.  #1 there can't be any corruption....none.  So in affect we would need a benevolent dictator of sorts to keep everybody honest the odds of that happening are pretty much impossible.  #2 In a socialist type of economy who or what inspires people to do better?  There is very little incentive to gain efficiency, experiment with new technology......ect.  If you or anybody else can come up with a genuine solution that everybody can agree on for these two simple points I think you would have a deal.  Like I said two pretty sharp guys have been mulling it over for years and its simply not attainable.  Looking forward to some THOUGHTFUL comments.  This is a social look at things only, or the simple view without even adding numbers and using math.  IMO much more complex and harder to come up with an answer but still the same answer.
