NE IA | My drive from New Hampton, IA to Ames yesterday early evening indicated that at least 75% corn fields were planted (honestly it looked like all corn was in, but being conservative at 65 mph). That same drive on Monday would have been 25%. NE quadrant was blessed with mostly good weather for 5 straight days.
Though on the way last night I drove though the worst downpours I have ever driven through. Fields were lakes. Flash flooding in Mason City had cars submerged (from the news). Must have tore a lot of gullies in the fields
