North Central Illinois | From what I can tell the western cornbelt is closing in on wrapping up planting but by forecast maps is in line for flooding rains next week. What affect that has on those planted acres is anyone's guess and remains to be seen. Forecasts can change too. The eastern belt looks to be in line for quite a bit less rain. While there has been progress we are still behind. Any rain will continue to hamper that progress but if things turn off a little drier than even the maps show even the eastern belt could make big headway next week. None of this fixes some of the problems that are out there and the challenges that lie ahead but it will show up as planted acres and traders will trade this. Not a terribly bearish scenario but I wouldn't get all bulled up and fuel the rockets yet either. If we are going to have a big rally it will be this summer and as always that is up to Mother Nature. | |
