I have been filing my crop share income and costs on IRS Schedule F for about 10 years. And paying Social Security tax on that income.
For 2018 there is a new form 4685 (IIRC might be 4865) That takes the same data as Schedule F but doesn't cause the Social Security tax. The form is specifically for rented farm land land lords.
