I have limited knowledge on VR beet seed, but have access to some very knowledgeable people on them. What I do know about beets is that creating excellent zones for 48" nitrogen sampling can be very beneficial to prevent over application. Bare soils imagery will catch soil differences a lot of the time. I would be willing to do a demo field for you.

As far as recording and merging multiple shape files into one, it can be done, but you will still need a software package capable doing the merging and putting in seeding rates. Contact me if you want some help.
