Digestibility, and therefore energy level, improves with wet corn. In typical years, feeders like to put up high moisture corn so that they can get a jump on harvest. Even with your earlage, you could see an improvement in energy even if it is a little wetter.

A HM corn, dry corn combination works very well by spreading the starch solubility out in the rumen resulting in less acid load and a more efficient rumen.

The downside is once you have harvested it, rolled it, and stored it you can no longer sell it (at least not very easily).
