I need to make a jig to make it better, but for now i just use a couple pieces of scrap lumber, my splitter is homemade and has a big flat piece of iron to push against, the split wedge is on the ram rod. I simply put a 4x4 between the wedge and the rim (against the wood grain) so it cant split the wood.
