The repair costs on the rototiller will make plowing look cheap though.
I don't doubt that, but I've been burned enough times plowing in a cover crop in May and then having the rain shut off that I'm pretty sure that shallow tillage is going to be a net gain, even with higher operating costs. If the rain shuts off, I can set my row cleaners aggressively and still plant into moisture. |
