Subject: Plastic wrap, which side is sticky?

SW OH
So, I bought a new wrapper last fall. Bale king BW 200. If you follow the threading diagram for the stretcher it puts the outside of the plastic coming off the roll against the hay. A roll of plastic I got from rural king says inside is sticky, put inside against hay. It also says follow threading instructions from manufacturer. Those 2 statements contradict each other.

Most of my plastic is flavor-seal brand. No directions as to which side is sticky. I always thought inside was sticky. No information on their web site either.

Could it be when my wrapper was made they put the stretcher upside down? If it were turned over I think it would put the inside of the plastic on the hay following the diagram. It's not as simple as flipping it upside down. I would have to cut the mounting pipe off one side and weld it on the otherside.

One more thing. A YouTube of the same wrapper clearly shows the crank that tightens the plastic roll in place is on top, mine is on the bottom. But in this video the outside of the plastic is going against the hay. Easy to swap the crank with the spring loaded other side.

We wrapped 29 last Saturday and threaded a roll backwards and turned stretcher around to put the inside against the hay. It didn't look right but it worked.

The big question is which side is sticky and does it really matter which side is against the hay?
