Subject: RE: Transfer pumps

Sw mn
I don't know why people all hate Brigs and Pacer pumps. We started with a 3 horse pump 30 years ago and it still starts the first or second pull. Haven't replaced the seal yet. I have four other Brigs pumps from 15 years old to a new one last year. All the pumps started this spring on less than five pulls of the rope and work good. Three of my pumps pump fertilizer every year and are fine. But when I'm done with fertilizer I pump about 6000-12000 gal of water through them to clean the fert out. I cover all of my pumps when not in use with a half a barrel or put them in the shed. We also change oil a few times in the year so that may help.
