East central Iowa | We had a shower that was 30 or so years old. When you moved the handle to the hot side you got hot water.
My wife wanted a different finish, brushed nickel rather than shiny chrome so we got a new shower valve with the brushed nickel finish.
It controls the water temperature so you can't have just hot water. I really don't like that. There's some kind of portioning valve that demands a mix of cold with the hot.
We've had this blamed thing for a couple of years and I thought maybe somebody would know if there is now available a shower valve, brushed nickel that allows hot water only. I'm tired of lukewarm showers and I don't want to raise the temperature of the water heater any more. Water directly from the water heater is 125°. |
