Omg. You really think $16 beans and $7 corn was a fair price?? We are lucky it didn’t last too long. You think things are expensive now. Just think if them prices had stayed there a few years. Then take away that price and are left with expenses that would be double of what they are now. We are still feeling the aftershocks of 2012. Expenses need to come down more yet. Now $11 and $4 would be better. Lol
Exactly right. After a couple more years of those prices and guys would have been squealing they can’t make any money. I attended a rental auction Sullivan’s had east of Osage, IA that went for $525 acre. $1,000 plus per ton for N, P and K. Double the line of credit again, 40 bucks an acre just for interest. Yeah, those would be real great times again.
