I have had trouble in the past pulling 2 500 bushel wagons up a grade, especially if wet or loose rock on the top of the grade. I do know it is steeper now then it used to be.
Could probably get it changed for free now but will be my expense after they get done and leave.
I was looking for the recommended grade from an engineering aspect, but apparently no one knows that.
I know some out there deal with steeper. Good for you, but that was not the question.
With momentum the grade won’t be a problem in my opinion. But if you have to stop and wait for traffic I can see that with loose material your tractor might just dig holes instead of going forward.
You could have them make it more lever for the length of your tractors and wagons from the white line, and then drop even more steeply into the field in my opinion, Or you could get them to make sure that surface is solid and well packed, Maybe some recycled asphalt spread out or something similar. |
