I have a field that is wet. It has a good proven yield. 55% of proven yield at $4 corn or $9.54 beans is more than I can make farming it! Lotta rain coming. I be money ahead to sit on my ass? Shoulda adid more fields!

It isn't 55% of your proven yield % spring price.
It's 55% of your proven yield * your crop insurance election * spring price.

60 bushel beans * 9.54 * 80% * 60% = $274.75 an acre pp

200 bushel corn * $4 * 80% * 55% = $352 an acre pp
