First guess is a needle fell down.
If that isn't it and you can get the rings in, set the joint in an open vice with one side on the jaws and the other side up and down, loose in the vice. Hit the outside of the yoke that is up and down between the cup and the shaft (the back curved side of the yoke) Give it a good wack on each side, that often helps.
