Is optisurface the only software that can do this?
Its not the only but I think it is the best. I have tried others and they are produce some hopeless results and shift a mountain of soil.
Optisurface has far smarter calculations I think and the cost of it is small compared to the earthwork benefits.
Optisurface can export to a generic shape file I think but good luck with reasberry pi.
