NS Canada | Had that problem here last spring, and looks to be going the same way this spring.
The grass starts to green up and then we get weeks of cold wet weather, it doesn't grow but its getting on in its life cycle - starts to head out under a ft tall. Then when the heat finally does show up, people give it some extra time to get more quantity and the quality goes down, and you end up with stemmy hay. Not much you can do about it though. Take it off and hope for a better 2nd cut. | |
