West Central Iowa | I agree with the other posters, do exactly as you are directed by the vet/owner you are working with.
In regards to CIDRs though......The length of time the CIDR is in is not near as critical as the timing and injections once it has been pulled, whether it be for an AI protocol or embryo work. I'm not suggesting to go rogue on any of the CIDR protocols, but if you put them in Wednesday morning and pull them Tuesday night, you are only short 12 hours anyway (and that is something I have done before). I recall one time I left them in an extra 12 or 18 hours as well. While not preferred, weather played a role in my +/- 12 hour deviations as trying to work cows in the pouring rain is not very ideal. | |
