That's a possible way to hook those up, constant voltage to the Viper Pro, when the Viper Pro turns on it sends out the 12 volt signal that they hooked up to a relay. The relay should turn on logic power to the nodes. If you have some cable part numbers, I would likely have some prints to help you trace things back and find where the bad connection is.
