| When you created the second email address you created a second Apple ID. Both are still there and can be accessed on any device by simply signing in.
Sounds like you are trying to create another Apple ID on your ipad to match your phone, don't do that, just log in with the same email and password you used on your ipad on the phone.
Edit: you are not "pairing" anything you're simply logging into your online account
