NW IL, Mercer County | Its tough, I spent over 5 years in retail ag sales. Hard to find people that are willing to give up 3-4 months in the spring/summer of not knowing when they will be home or have any free time. Hard to find someone that will work 7-5 M-F and watch it rain Monday but dry out in time to work 30+ hours over the weekend for a month. Quality of life is a big deal, especially with young kids. I loved what I did, but I had the opportunity to take over the family farm, otherwise I would probably still be there going on 6 years later. | |
