Subject: RE: 16" vs 24" bin foundation

Holland, Indiana (SW IN)
I am assuming you are talking a straight out discharge --and by 36" face you mean where you have the out auger will be 36"
Should work fine unless you need to dig a hole where your load out is--then you have to worry about water pooling
AND a bunch of water comes off a bin roof and runs around the foundation
We have plenty of bins with 6" foundation and they suck--- thats the way bins were built in our area 30 years ago
We have just built a new one 24" foundation-
you can always consider a 25 degree out head may be cheaper(IMO probably $500- $1000+) than concrete--if you think you need it
IF you don't need to dig a hole for your load out auger that slides under your discharge auger (probably coming up at a 35 degree angle) it will not matter IMO
