Frytown, Iowa | I have found out a young mans dreams and ambitions can be the worst thing he can think up. Life is easier if you follow the money and opportunities that come your way and be happy and grateful for them... bucking the wind for a goal you thought up in your teens/early 20s is a sure fire way to obtain depression, financial hardship while ignoring the obvious, and a stressed marriage/family life.
The only thing good out of it is determination and motivation... but you can have determination and motivation out of love and respect for your spouse/family/community/boss/ect... determination and motivation out of selfless love is always better than selfish gain anyways.
I’m rambling.
If you feel a calling to farm you can make it work. It won’t look like your neighbors farm that is on their 4th generation owner... you may get made fun of for working with junk
But the margins are there if your smart... the slim, poverty level, debt swamped margins are there...
