Our last dog ate the usual farm dog buffet from the feedlot.  The fresher the better I guess.  She would also occasionally let me know she was hungry by grabbing a few kernels from the feed pile.  I don't know if any rumensin made it through to the manure or if she ever ate any pellets, but she died from old age.  ~15yrs old.
