The companies in my area all pay within a few thousand dollars of each other, but the main differences are in the building costs and the contract ( i.e. contract length, payment schedule, any bonuses, etc.) When we were looking at contracts, one company paid a few thousand less three times a year and their building cost about 40k more than their competitors. Another outfit paid monthly and they had better negotiated rates with the same contractor.
Every sow unit has problems every now and then, so you can't really go on how the pigs are at that specific time, but some companies put the pigs in, take them out, and give all their shots and with other companies the grower is responsible. So there are differences between companies, you just have to ask the right questions.
