Subject: Calving in May- June insect issues

Galena IL
We farm right on the Illinois/Wisconsin line. Thinking really hard about going to later calving. Some of the naysayers are telling me not to because of maggots. We have a few cows that don’t calve until June every year and I haven’t had any problems. Would moving the date back for the whole herd (300) make matters worse? Looking for less problems not more. What are other farmers calving in May, June finding? TIA..... Dennis
