When I’ve had semen shipped it was in the stud company’s tank. I think they gave me a discount for a first-time order, but shipping was a pretty significant percentage of already expensive semen. I wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t a really good bull that I couldn’t get a comparable one any other way. I don’t know if it was worth it: probably not. I ordered 10 units each of 2 bulls that way 2 years ago, I’ll have 2 daughters from each of them calving next year. Roughly $150 in semen for each heifer, I guess. | |
